Hishzaiē̼ Ji̊ Qi̊v (/hiʃ/ /zaj̼/ [afternoon] [neat]) is a subtropical City located in the Iēibonjām Region of the Tetburland.

The name Hishzaiē̼ Ji̊ Qi̊v is derived from the Goblin language, as Hishzaiē̼ Ji̊ Qi̊v was founded by Brêyëkdo, who was culturaly Tauran.

Climate

Hishzaiē̼ Ji̊ Qi̊v has a yearly average temperature of 27°C (80°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 33°C (91°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 21°C (69°F). Hishzaiē̼ Ji̊ Qi̊v covers an area of nearly 33 km2 (13 mi2), and an average elevation of 638 m (2093 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Hishzaiē̼ Ji̊ Qi̊v was founded durring the late 12th century in fall of the year 1083, by Brêyëkdo. The establishment of Hishzaiē̼ Ji̊ Qi̊v suffered from many setbacks, delays, and obsticles, most notably a group of Hishzaiē̼ Ji̊ Qi̊v which required millitary assistance exterminate before the community could finish being built.

Hishzaiē̼ Ji̊ Qi̊v was built using the conventions of Tauran durring the late 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Hishzaiē̼ Ji̊ Qi̊v is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Hishzaiē̼ Ji̊ Qi̊v is buildings are arranged arround a single premissive gravel mainstreet with many smaller streets branching off of it which gives the city a over all rectangular shape, albit one warped and twisted by the nature of the curves of the main road. The city posesses a mighty albit amaturly crafted stone wall. It was built using querried stone blocks and posesses all of the standard defencive features, including a few watch towers. While it would last against a siege, the wall's outdated and simplistic construction method percludes the possability of Hishzaiē̼ Ji̊ Qi̊v weathering a full scale bombardment durring a siege. The budget focused millitary grade defenses has suffered a visible ammount of structural damage, leaving them effectivly useless. One can't help but wonder why the has not yet effected repairs.

A quick look in any direction shows Hishzaiē̼ Ji̊ Qi̊v is filled with vices. There are many taverns, brothels are advertising their services on the streets, cardsharks are plying their illicit trade within public squairs, and every shop has at least three signs advertising various sales on goods. That alone wouldn’t be too noticeable, if it wasn’t just so omnipresent and overwhelmingly how the people of this city live. Or if the general public wasn’t so enthusiastically, openly, and merrily participating in these activities.

They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Hishzaiē̼ Ji̊ Qi̊v's natural decorations nor waterways.

Cultural Notes

Hishzaiē̼ Ji̊ Qi̊v's locals despise outsiders. For some “outsiders” may be natives of foreign lands, while others might have a grudge against anyone from outside the community. These locals have an active loathing, and the outsiders allowed to trade or interact with them do so at a heavy disadvantage.

Hishzaiē̼ Ji̊ Qi̊v's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by vertical proportions, pointed arches, external buttressing, and asymmetry in the general shape of its buildings. The decorative features of the style were key, consisting of large arched windows, pointed arches, vaulted ceilings, flying buttresses, and sculptures integrated into the structure itself. Occasionally, for very important buildings, an array of sculptures or one colossal sculpture might replace the entirety of the entrance to said building.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century an unusualy harsh winter spawned a deadly blizard to Hishzaiē̼ Ji̊ Qi̊v. The ice, snow, and wind killed 138 people, 182 livestock, and destroyed 82. The event is remembered as Agony's Breath.
